Dear Greenwood Community,
After a thoughtful and thorough hiring process, we are excited to announce that Mr. Blake Hammond has been selected as the new principal of Greenwood K-8 School, beginning in the 2020-21 school year. We are confident that Mr. Hammond can, and will carry on Greenwood’s mission and ensure all students attain the skills necessary to become self-sufficient, well-educated young leaders.
We would like to thank the selection committee for their time and energy throughout the process. The committee served the school community very well and their love and commitment for the students and teachers was evident throughout the hiring process. We also want to thank the community for their participation by providing feedback after viewing the candidate’s videos. The Greenwood community participation rate was very high and your feedback was an important part of the decision to hire Mr. Blake Hammond.
Mr. Hammond has been a leader in the FNE Community for several years, serving in numerous roles: classroom teacher, teacher leader, assistant principal, and Principal of Green Valley Elementary for the past 3 years. As principal, he has demonstrated many accomplishments including leading and supporting teachers to attain high outcomes for students in early literacy and mathematics.
Mr. Hammond is a strong advocate for the Greenwood Community, and will be a champion to ensure all students are thriving as scholars and leaders, while developing strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.
We are committed to ensuring Mr. Hammond and Greenwood K-8 have the support, resources and tools to help all students and staff succeed. We hope you will join us in welcoming this talented new leader as principal to Greenwood’s community.
