Latest Update 10.28.20

Posted October 28, 2020

Dear Marie L. Greenwood Families,

I hope all is well at this time.

I am writing to provide clarity in regard to the latest announcement from Denver Public Schools. I am also writing to update you on our approach to learning moving forward for the grades impacted by this decision.

On Tuesday, the following was announced by Denver Public Schools, which will impact our approach to learning:

·      Grades K-2 will continue in-person/virtual instruction as normal

·      Grades 3-5 will transition to remote learning beginning November 2 and remain remote through Nov 30

·      Grades 6-8 will remain in remote learning through December 31

We are deeply saddened by this announcement of change in timeline. However, we respect the decision of Denver health experts.

We know that remote learning is not ideal of everyone, but we look forward to continuing to offer live daily instruction for all of our remote students.

With more students remaining virtual we need your support with the following:

·      Ensure daily attendance in our virtual platforms beginning at 8:15am and ending at 2:30pm. We have expanded our virtual learning opportunity times and we ask that all students attend daily, all day. If a child is not able to attend for some reason, please call the front office and alert us of this absence

·      Check to ensure that your child completes their daily assignments. Teachers are teaching through live sessions, but students are still assigned items to complete outside of the live-sessions

·      If your child is engage in remote learning right now, please come to the school this week from 8:00 – 4:00pm and retrieve materials for learning through Thanksgiving break. This is vitally important to your child’s success.

Please continue to reference our school website to learn about your child’s virtual schedule, and learn of other updates that are coming.

We appreciate all of your support.

Together, we are Marie L. Greenwood!
